Mercedes Amaya is the niece of the brilliant bailaora Carmen Amaya, daughter of Antonia Amaya and the cantaor Chiquito de Triana. She began her career in the 80’s, in the most important tablaos and then touring international forums first in Latin America, Japan and more recently in Spain.

In the early nineties he began the formation of his own company, with which he performs in major international forums.

Her show Fuente Vieja was presented at the Miguel Covarrubias Hall in 1992 and in 1994 she performed at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, as part of the International Dance Day Festival.

Thus, throughout his career, he has participated in important festivals around Mexico and the world, such as Acapulco, Lima, Seville, Barcelona, Albuquerque, Mazatlan, San Luis Potosi, Tokyo, Oaxaca, Mont-de-Marsan and Mexico City.
