Cape Town, Second Summer

I’m finally sharing my visual diary of my December trip to Cape Town. In all honesty I didn’t really go half way around the world to be a tourist. I went to spend some time with someone very dear to my heart there. In the process I got to have my second summer, which was much needed in the calm before the storm and anticipation of what is about to be the craziest work year of my life. I didn’t sit around though and loved exploring. In some ways it reminded me a lot of home in Southern California; relaxed, sunny, and calm. In other ways it was something completely foreign to me, a hodge podge of cultures I knew nothing about but had the pleasure of learning a bit. Cape Town is as vibrant as it is laid back, and I tried to capture some of its colors in my photos.

Photographs taken at Sidewalk Cafe, Cape Town Aquarium, Bakoven Beach, Signal Hill, and Charlie’s Bakery. I had some really magic moments there, so this is just the first of several posts about my time in South Africa. More very soon…until then see you on facebook, tumblr, and twitter.
