What I Wore…to breakfast on Sunday

sunday_best_01

Ca va baby dolls? Sunday, sunday sunday, free day, fun day! Like so many of my pictures these ones come from this glorious day of the week, when business as usual ceases to call and email, and I get to take it slow. Reading my blog it might seem like everyday is Sunday as these are mostly the days I photograph because they’re the ones worth sharing. I inherited this beautiful coat from my aunt Deedee. I imagine she often wore this beauty for putting on her Sunday best. My grandfather used to buy her and my mom the most amazing clothes from Beverly Hills’ finest shops back in the 60′s and 70′s. Lucky for me my aunt has two boys so I am usually next in line to inherit lovely vintage items like this one.

Vintage doll size powder puff, Paul & Joe Makeup powder puff,  4. Souvenir Arc de Triumphe, vintage camelia necklace gifted by French-Kissed, Bvlgari travel size perfume. 5. Nordstrom’s rosette headband, souvenir Eiffel Tower, vintage Italian porcelain pug (isn’t he cute covered in those flowers?!) 6. The Pleasing Hour

Around four o’clock a soft light tumbles into this peaceful and plush little corner of home. Every item adorning this space has been thoughtfully selected over the years, a mix of vintage bargains from decades past and fresh white linens. Its perfection is humble though, and during this hour of each day it becomes particularly inviting for nap upon its disheveled down, cotton, and silk. It is truly the most pleasing of ways to spend an hour…

I am wearing Jeffrey Campbell Litas and vintage dress from Beyond Retro in Stockholm. I’m finding myself falling more and more for vintage feminine silhouettes like Beyond Retro‘s very own Elsa Bilgren. For these photos I was very inspired by Miss Pandora‘s Lullaby poses and The Cherry Blossom Girl‘s La Chambre Bleu frames. Of coarse it is my mummy French-Kissed who has snapped these photos and so wonderfully decorated this space, so please head over to her blog to leave your compliments if you like either :-). Kisses from Paris baby dolls!
