Mommy

momma

I am nearly 24 years old and I still call my mother Mommy (always). Aside from the fact that she just happens to be mine, I could tell you all the millions of reasons I have to love my mother. But what’s important today is that I tell her that, what I just wanted to say here is…what a babe! And so well dressed…you can see where I got my hair. Happy Mother’s day to everyone. P.S. My mom has a beautiful blog you can read here.

“Only Photograph What You Love”

making_magique_07.jpg_effected

Hi dollies! I am feeling pensive and inspired after reading a post by my blog friend Mariell. She was lucky enough to attend a talk given by Tim Walker himself who left them with a piece of advice…only photograph what you love. Since I have been thinking about what it is that makes me want to photograph something. Sometimes it’s the subject alone, other times because I want to remember a moment, regardless of wether it is photogenic or not (99% percent of my photos actually never make it on to this blog!). Often I just like the light regardless of the rest of the content, and sometimes something is so pretty and perfect it would just be a shame not to have a snapshot. Most of my photos fall somewhere in between all of this, and looking back I will pick out ones I over looked and learned to love now and share them on this blog. Things I love here and there, family, trinkets, pets, the way the light dances in a room, a special outfit, a special day, or whatever I do snap may not be a Tim Walk photograph, with models, set designs, and professional lighting but never-the-less they are the things I love. Well here is just a couple for now until I decide to share some more photos of my Loire adventures. Also a song for you which after so many questions about artists name I am now remembering to put all the info in file name!

The Pleasing Hour

Around four o’clock a soft light tumbles into this peaceful and plush little corner of home. Every item adorning this space has been thoughtfully selected over the years, a mix of vintage bargains from decades past and fresh white linens. Its perfection is humble though, and during this hour of each day it becomes particularly inviting for nap upon its disheveled down, cotton, and silk. It is truly the most pleasing of ways to spend an hour…

I am wearing Jeffrey Campbell Litas and vintage dress from Beyond Retro in Stockholm. I’m finding myself falling more and more for vintage feminine silhouettes like Beyond Retro‘s very own Elsa Bilgren. For these photos I was very inspired by Miss Pandora‘s Lullaby poses and The Cherry Blossom Girl‘s La Chambre Bleu frames. Of coarse it is my mummy French-Kissed who has snapped these photos and so wonderfully decorated this space, so please head over to her blog to leave your compliments if you like either :-). Kisses from Paris baby dolls!
