Whose Night Out?

Well I think it was supposed to be Fashion’s Night Out but it was really our night out. You know this annual thing that happens globally every year now thanks to the editor at large of  V***e who I shall not name! So I put on something sparkly and headed to see the girls at Jimmy Choo where Audrey was hosting as a social media ambassador. There we drank more than our fair share of the free champagne and decorated our feet for some fleeting moments with whatever our hearts desired, pretending to care about fashion but really we all just love clothes. Then we polished off shoe shopping with some Mojitos at Hotel Costes because I think it what “fashion people” do, non?

Swing Life Away

It’s hard to let go of summer as it slowly slips away…even when we may be ready for autumn and getting back to work. There’s something so romantic about those final days, free from the layers that will soon cover us to keep us from the cold, free from the walls that will keep us warm inside when all turns grey inevitably, free from the responsibilities of work we manage to forget now and then. The last days of summer, this the twilight of our freedom and never has it felt so amazing as in the golden hour when most of it’s behind us. I promise all year I won’t forget this feeling, barefoot in the vineyard, best friends at my heels, secret swing sets waiting in the trees…

Sol

Pool days exist for a few very important reasons; so with the sun our freckles can come out in full force like star constellations surrounding our summer eyes, so swimming can wash away the city soot that collected on our souls all year, so pages of good books can be devoured and stained with melty popsicle drips, and so tan lines can map across our bodies summer memories of laughing with friends over  kitschy pool toys, and so I can write run on sentences about it all. These days don’t come often enough.
