Red Riding Hood

Bonjour baby dolls! A few months back I found this beautiful vintage red fur hood hiding in a box of a vintage store in the Marais. I tucked it away in a drawer only to rediscover it recently. Unsure exactly how to wear it I put it on a let it inspire me. It was only fitting it lead to reliving Red Riding Hood, as it seems to be this accessory’s destiny. However I wanted to recreate a look inspired by this classic fairytale that was modern and fresh, no predictable red capes or wicker baskets. Mommy French-Kissed and I headed to the oak forest just footsteps from our front door in California to snap these photos. I think the pictures are a nice testament to how one simple wardrobe item can inspire us to create a whole little universe around it. In this case a fairytale…

I’m wearing Topshop boots, a vintage maxi dress, a Gap sweater, Miu Miu purse, and of coarse a vintage red riding hood. Luckily there were no big bad wolves chasing me! Just my mommy with the camera! They haven’t yet run me off back to Paris though, I am still in California for work this next week. Wishing you all an amazing start to this new year. If you are looking to start it off with some blogs some of my darling AUP girlfriends are blogging! My friend Jude jet-sets between home in Kuwait and school in Paris sharing all of her adorable finds, in particular her sisters gorgeous cake, flower, and gift boutique! Miss Sofia, a style scout for Vice Mag who can be spotted on the blog from time to time, is blogging her adventures between Paris, London, New York, and Miami over on the ultra cool God Save Les Filles! Of coarse there is Meg as well who is blogging all things good between life in Paris, and home in the States on De Quelle Planete Es-Tu? Please visit their blogs as well as the others in my blog friends list! Next post I will announce the  winner of the Sara Bentley giveaway with a new long awaited giveaway to announce next week! It’s going to be a busy start to the year. Kisses darlings!

These pictures are great, I especially love the close up. It’s great that you happened to have lipstick that matched the color of the hood perfectly. And I can’t believe how green the woods are in California at this time of year!
