One of my favorite places in Paris is the Pere Lachaise cemetery. I’ve always loved old graveyards and I’ve visited them all over the world from Istanbul to Hawaii and everywhere in between. I find them only a tiny bit eerie, but mostly just beautiful. The Pere Lachaise is such a fascinating place to get lost…its calm and quiet and the perfect place for exploring with your camera in creative solitude…which is really what I needed last Saturday to calm my mind after a long work week. It’s such a joy to take the time with my camera and be creative, patiently waiting to get just the right shots and trying new things with out worrying about holding up friends or others in my company. Autumn in the Pere Lachaise at the golden hour is a photographers heaven. Good thing the graves don’t spook me out…I stayed till closing when the guards had to kick me out…
