♫ It’s not hard, not far to reach. We can hitch a ride, To Rockaway Beach! ♫ It’s true! This place is only a subway ride away from home in Brooklyn, which makes it the favorite summer weekend spot of my sister. It may have been The Ramones that first immortalized Rockaway Beach in the song, but I’m doing it my own way in my photo diary here of this stop on my recent American tour. I never really associated going to New York City with going to the beach but my sister was dying to share it with me. Our friend Mike has an adorable bungalow out there as well so the three of us made a day of it! Swimming, tanning, Rockaway Taco, and some down time at Mike’s cottage and cruising in his Jeep…just another perfect summer Saturday in this iconic American spot.
